Ken left to Mexico early Tuesday morning so its been just me and the kids and with Ken being gone all week I don't have to spend a lot of time cleaning the house because I really only do that for him :) So instead, I've been taking the kids out and about and one of our stops was Cypress Lake. They have a recreation area full of stuff to do and its cheap. If its cheap, I'll take one if its free I'll take two! Anyway, its $4.00 per car of 5 or less then its just $1 each additonal person. You can stay until the front gate closes. We had a lot of fun, especially with the weather being so nice today. We were able to stay longer and do more. I had my little Kodak with me, and the card in it only held like 60 pics or so, or you know I would have taken lots more :( Thats what I get for bringing the nice camera along with no card inside. Live and Learn! :) Click on the link below to see a bit from our day together. Oh and you know I forgot to do the whole sticking the camera out to get a picture of me and my kiddo's, well, maybe next time.

I hate to do this to my husband...

BUT, this needs to be announced. Something just like this has already happened during my little boys life, and today I came home to it again.

Before I left to run errands I told him that when Landon wakes up to go ahead and feed a can of Chicken and Stars (soup) oh yeah, this is a little tid bit too..CONDENSED SOUP!

So I get back home and my boys are outside and he begins to tell me that Landon ate some charcoal out of the fire place and then threw up. (He called poison control..good daddy, even though its the same stuff given to patients that OD but that's a different blog :} ) So, I then said, "did you feed him?" <--I was out in the garage working on the garage sale stuff and the door was open so we were kinda talking to each other in different rooms. His reply "He wouldn't eat that stuff you wanted him to." Me: "He wouldn't? He loves that stuff, eats it all every time I make it for him."

So then I said, "you didn't feed him did you?" Ken: "Yes, I did" Me: "I'm coming in and looking" (he always leaves food on his highchair when he feeds him) So I go inside and look on the highchair and say, "Crackers? Wheres the soup?" Ken: "What soup?" Me: "Uh, the soup that I told you to feed him...Chicken and Stars..." Ken: "Ooohhh, I thought you told me to feed him Chicken in a Biscuit crackers. Me: "Oh my gosh! Ken, seriously, I can't believe you did this again!" So Ken, gets up and makes the soup, and feeds it to him practically straight out of the can because he never added water to it, not only that but you guys this is soup and the man just spooned some out and put it on his high chair tray. You could imagine once again how I reacted. I basically told him that I couldn't be married to him anymore. (smiling of course)

So I went back outside and then opened the door and said, "That's why he was eating the charcoal!"

Just another inside look of Life Jenkins Style, hope this made you appreciate the help around your house :)

Something confirmed...

Well, I've never been one that liked the idea of taking pictures then handing over a CD to print at ones convenience. Today confirmed this for me. Other photographers reading this will understand when I mention "calibrated monitor". What looks great to me on my screen probably won't print that "great" somewhere besides the labs that I'm calibrated with. I printed Alli's thank you cards at Walgreens and they were so cute when I made them, but once I opened the envelope all excited to see them printed, I was sorely disappointed. Way too dark! Uhhggg...oh well, everyone getting one of these {less than high standard} thank you cards are all my friends and probably won't even notice what I did. Anyway, this my friends and clients, is why I will never give you a CD and say, "go print, have fun", because you won't be happy with the results. Good day!

Introducing Name Boards!!!

So, I'm driving in the car today and I'm trying to think of what to do with Landon's room to give it a little more character than just the bedspread alone and I got to thinking about some sort of wall art maybe and this is what I came up with...I do this scrapbooking sort of thing for my kids pics already so why not share the wealth?

The name boards are custom created like all of my products :) and are designed with your child's room in mind. You don't have to stop at your kid's rooms either...if there is a bible verse that is special to you or maybe a saying that you want hanging above your bed, let me know and I will put it to the colors of whatever is around it.

The boards come in two sizes for now, I may add new sizes as I see fit. The 11x14 print is priced at $35, and the standout "storyboard" mounted print is $70. If the longer print is more your style that one is a 10x20 and the print is $55, where as the standout of it is $110.

I can't wait to start designing these for you all!!!!

I finally got around to taking Alli's four year pics. They arn't my favorite, but the poor thing had a really bad UTI last weekend and just before we did this she had to go potty, it wasn't pleasant, for her or for me....after getting the pics on the computer, I could see her teary eyes in a bunch of them :( She is feeling much better now thanks to some good ol' Bactrim.

Lions and Tigers and Bugs! Oh My!

Yes, the title may be corny but if you know me well enough then you know that bugs aren't my thing. I cried in front of my in-laws once because Ken had put on old locust shell on my shoulder...yeah, its that bad. So bad that I would risk destroying one of my lenses to get away from a hairy caterpillar. It's a sad world I live in...

Look closely on my baby's little toe on his left foot, there it is! The hairy caterpillar! Oh, my gosh, you all know I was freaking out, not because it was on his foot I didn't even realize that until after I put these on the computer, but shortly after this picture was taken, Landon noticed it and picked it up, I thought it was a twig at first then I walked a bit closer and screamed! "Landon, put that yucky bug down! Drop it, drop it!" <-- you can imagine how this went. :) Landon was just laughing and laughing, he thought that little bug was cute, he just so happened to be wearing a bug outfit, go figure! Anyway, this momma wasn't about to touch that bug, so I extended my zoom lens and smacked it out of Landon's hand, pulled my baby off of that stump by his armpit, and ran into the car. Someone in Forest Hills has it on video, they could win on AFV if they sent it in. So, there it is, me and my stupidity, I hope it was worth reading :)
